This Course will enable the Researchers to develop the most appropriate methodology for their Research Studies. The mission of the course is to impart research skills to the beginners and help improve the quality of Research by the existing researchers. This course covers three major themes: Digital Literacy, Library Automation, and Internet based Tools and Services. This course is specifically designed for library professionals it is useful for anyone who is interested in getting basic training in computers and different ICT tools.

Objectives:

The course deals with information sources and library services. It gives detailed information about categories of information sources and how to evaluate them. To impact in depth knowledge to the learners on the concept and need for information and to identify information sources best suited for specific information needs.

Aims:

This course is running for the students/Scholars of library and information science as well as for professional working in library and information centres. Other learners interested in learning about information sources, system/organization and services may also take up the course.

This is the introductory course which provides insight into the concept of Libraries and Colleges and Universities. It also discusses the role of Libraries in the Colleges and Universities. The basic objective of this course is to provide Information about the types of libraries and functions of each type.

• The course also discusses the basic operations of the libraries. To enable to scholars, appreciate the contribution made by Librarian thinkers towards the basic introduction and function of Libraries.
